Main sprite aside, surprised by just how close G.G version is to MD orig. (never played any of the 8-Bit versions).Seems to have more in way of ground detail than Lynx version by looks of things too.
Not sure what is missing from G.G version, but from vids shown, it looks more impressive than Lynx version, so i'm voting Gear.

I was thinking the same thing, but I think I prefer the less detailed landscape in the Lynx version. It's quite a close call again between these vids. I think the Lynx edges it if only because of the way enemy soldiers explode when shot!
The sprites are so much better in the Lynx version its not even funny, the Game Gear version has sprite flicker too
I also think the Lynx version has a much better status screen, all together on the one screen so you don't have to cycle through. For me the Lynx version is far closer to the MD original and wins out.
For myself, i was expecting the G.G version to have visual detail cut back somewhat, so to see so much detail on the ground surprised me and thus from a technical viewpoint, admire somewhat what developers have kept in.
And as a result, seeing the Lynx version featuring more sparse ground, came as dissapointment, just expected more from the Lynx version, which, as has been pointed out, does indeed have it's own areas where it has edge over the G.G, seems rather more workman like.
This is a really tough one as they both have areas that are better then the other. In the end if I have to choose I will give it to the Lynx just cause I like the explosions much more on that version.
I vote Quackshot!
I have never played either handheld but just like the 16-bit versions I would be happy playing both.
Now let's take a look at Lemmings

Lynx version
There wasn't good videos for either version
Boy, this is a tough one. Those two videos are very different in quality and that does not help. I found this other video, one of the Let's Compare. Go to 9:05 for GG and 10:01 for Lynx.Â

In any case, they are both good versions. The Lynx is a bit more pixelated. Can't judge sound based on the emulator since it doesn't do a good job with it.Â
You can hear all the sound in the video I posted.
Personally I think the Lynx wins by a distance; more lemmings on screen, no flicker, more detail, better music, more speech and better control method.

To be honest, I hated the way the Lynx version took up the entire screen with the ability bar. I'm not entirely sure why they did that, and maybe it's just me, but for me, it just makes me instantly vote for the Game Gear version. Besides, Matt Furniss did the music for the Game Gear version. Yes, I'm biased.

Because it makes far better advantage of the small screen and I think it works incredibly well as it also pauses the game and gives you time to think.
Also DMA Design (the creators of Lemmings) did the Lynx version themselves, which is explains why it is widely regarded as one of the best versions available.
Tough Cookie!. I had the Game Gear version and loved it.Never seen the Lynx version until now and whilst it does boast better sound FX, more Lemmings etc, not quite so keen on the lower res.visuals myself and the G.G music has a jaunty C64 vibe to it, so Game Gear wins by a whisker or 2.
Why do people keep saying much lower res? There is barely any difference in resolution
Easily the Lynx version! Better everything!
